Release 8.0 for Blackboard Learning System™ - CE and Vista License clients is now available!

Following on the heels of the launch of Release 8 of the Blackboard Academic Suite™ in December, 2007, this is the second step in standardizing our latest releases, across our product families, to a common version number. And, it is a key step toward Project Next Generation, our multi-year, multi-release project to bring together the best of Blackboard and WebCT and to deliver our next generation solutions.

With the main release focus on continued product quality and stability, we worked closely with over 20 clients to test Release 8.0 for the Blackboard Learning System - CE and Vista Licenses. This release also contains new features, such as integrated Scholar® and SafeAssign™, and the ability to connect to the other products in the Blackboard Academic Suite.

Social Learning Network Expands Further with Scholar
Scholar by Blackboard is now integrated into the Blackboard Learning System – CE Basic License and Enterprise licenses. This innovative social bookmarking feature, available at no additional cost, enables users to access an academic resource-sharing service customized for education. Click here for more information. 

Built-in Access to the Rest of Blackboard Academic Suite
Release 8.0 also includes a built-in connection that makes it easier for clients to broaden their effort to engage and assess students, both in and beyond the course, by connecting to the Blackboard Community System™, Blackboard Content System™ or Blackboard Outcomes System™.
